I had the tremendous opportunity to experience performing at the prestigious Carnegie Hall with the Manhattan Pops. As a group we were accompanying Gospel greats Sandy Patti, Larnell Harris, and Dino Kartsonakis, along with Denver & the Mile High Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Boys Choir. The special concert event was put together by DCK Enterprises to honor Israel, and was conducted by David Clydesdale.
This concert was one of those rare times where I decided to take out my earplugs (you have to play really softly in that concert hall anyway) and soak in the sound of the orchestra around me, and how the whole performance reacted in that beautiful hall. Much thanks goes out to Ludwig Drums for supplying a great kit for the occasion.
This concert was especially sweet for me, as my father was a hobbyist concert promoter in the area of Wisconsin where I grew up. When I was a kid, he promoted concerts for Sandy, Larnell and Dino, and now I am playing for them at one of the most famous halls in the US.
